The guy was a drug fiend whose life unraveled and then he snapped. Absolutely tragic, but unless there are more incidents like this in Thailand, we must assume (for now) that this was an isolated case and not indicative of a pattern or structural issues.

Too bad he killed the wifey though, she would have made a lot of tourists on the streets of Bangkok very happy.
