Just look at the NHS in the UK as an example of a single-payer system. Medicare4all will cover the standard stuff, but it sure as hell wont provide top-notch healthcare for everyone, simply because the costs will already be astronomically in the standardstuff-only version.

So how would adding in private health cover as a middle man, and a layer of people who's entire job is to try to deny any possible claims going to make anything cheaper or better?
You are simply redirecting the possible pool of money for health care through a rat maze with each little rat taking his own bite on the way through.
I live in australia where private health cover often ends up shittier than our public system.
Also. america has the most expensive health care on the planet.. Shit you pay thousands for can cost 80 bucks here.

A one-size-fits-all system just wont be flexible enough to meet the needs of everyone. And again: the costs will be astronomically in even the most basic version of medicare4all. There definitely will be attempts to deny claims or limit them in scope.

Odd that we manage it in australia even whilst subsidising private health and hospitals more than our public system.

Another interesting thing about it that google has recently scrubbed its search engine of it. You used to be able to reverse image search it and get hundreds of higher resolution ones (2015) but recently when i tried google could only produce a few thumbnails and watermarked ones.
