but you'd be well within your rights to. as would anyone shooting someone in their home without permission. as the cop lady foolishly thought she was doing. thus she's getting 5 years.

black people twitter (and you apparently) are still missing my point. we've moved from "cops always get off with it" straight to "cops aren't punished harshly enough" without all enjoying the fact that we now live in a world where cops aren't moved from town to town, and instead do prison time and are off the force permanently.

progress is good. i wouldn't have a very good point if i'd seen even one person pointing this out, just one. instead we have 437 people complaining about the sentence. without ALSO acknowledging that the murder charge itself (over manslaughter, a potentially applicable charge) gets an automatic 2 more years for her.

pointing to pot charges is really just whataboutism, different crimes have never had equivalent punishments. punch one guy at a baseball game, 3-5 years. embezzle 10 million, 3-5 years. shit's never been equal and never will be.
