That's impossible. Humans are incapable of affecting climate!

How does the "pollution was horrendous" equate to humans affecting the climate... the cyclic climate which cycles on 100,000 year increments? <--- Rhetoric question. :/

/e I mean we're talking a city which fits in a circle with a 20 mile radius, including the boroughs and townships.

All the steel mills were located in that black circle.

RED circle would be downtown Pittsburgh. And this whole lower map would be the Pittsburgh, PA mailing address...

Downtown Pittsburgh, is NOT a big city. It's like a triangle with 3 miles sides...

Btw, that tallest bldg in the pic, is the US Steel Bldg.

Pittsburgh, being seated at the junction of three rivers, and smack dab in the middle of a huge cola field, made it the prime place to make steel.
Iron ore came from the Mesabi Range in Minnesota, down through the Great Lakes.....

All this coal and steel, made Pittsburghians experts on... pollution.

Pittsburgh is the RED dot on the lower left side of the map of Pennsylvania.

Besides steel and coal, Pittsburgh was also known for a few famous forts (Fort Duquesne and the Fort Pitt Blockhouse), at the Point (where the three rivers meet), and it's where Lewis & Clark began their expedition in 1803.

Socialist pollution propaganda

The size of the city doesn't mean anything. All the pollution gets diluted because the atmosphere is so large. Do you honestly think that humans are remotely capable of damaging our atmosphere? Talk about hubris.

Think of atmosphere like the ocean. If you pee in the ocean, the ocean doesn't suddenly become pee. And there's a lot more air than water since the atmosphere keeps going into space.

The climate change on Earth is cyclic over what appears to be, a roughly 100,000 year cycle.

Does man affect climate change? Not in any noticeable way. Man thinking he affects the climate is the epitome of hubris.

Why is climate change a big thing right now? Easy. One, it's a tool being used by the socialist masses to detract from the BS that is socialism.
Two, it's a tool for lobbyists for renewable energy sources, which, to date, don't really work that well.

I personally don't have a horse in the climate change game. My CO2 footprint is pretty much non-existent. I have no stock in renewable or non-renewable energy sources.
I am against socialism, just like I'm against participation trophies.

I also know that no matter how this debate turns out, it won't change a thing. If we all went back to nature tomorrow, it wouldn't change a thing. Humans just need to realize, that they don't mean diddly in the grand scheme of things.

I am agreeing with you. There's nothing man could possibly do to affect the climate.

Well, the non-existent quote you quoted me as saying, threw me off. :/

/e I don't know why we're discussing climate change anyway... I mean there's important things that need discussing...

Nah

At the current melt rate, the Greenland ice sheet would take 13,000 years to fully melt.

Some models predict that 1/4 of the ice sheet will melt in a 1000 years with increasing temperatures.

So whatever sea level rises come, we are going to be able to see and adjust for them.

I wish climate change proponents would be honest instead of the "we are all going to die in the next 15 years if we don't do anything" theatrics. Like be honest, don't alienate potential supporters with some sci-fi day after tomorrow scenarios.

the hype that the world will end in 15 years is just that we'll be going past the point of no return. Right-wing theatrics are not only more bs, but also dishonest too lol

yeah i didnt think it sounded on the level either.

honestly in 2019 i'm SUPER skeptical of any attacks on blacks in public. you get caught doing anything towards that ground and you're done for.

in 2019 attacks on blacks are more night time type events, where they can't identify an attacker. or even more cowardly just spray painting N-words on their stuff.

thankfully the era of public attacks on blacks is done for the most part.

Yeah i get what you're saying. The issue i see how is that any attack can be construed as a "racist/hate" attack or assault. That's the knee jerk reaction right now.

It's just so easy to pull the race card and your 'opponent' immediately has to defend themselves because you said a word. Doesn't matter who is right or who is wrong, just matters who yelled the buzzword first.

Shitty journalism.

Can't get clicks and sell subscriptions unless you stir the pot and create fake outrage.

Then they wonder why these fine reporting establishments get hit with the "fake news" label.
