 So they're surging left except on the most prominent issues of the left, being military spending, healthcare, corporate consolidation, etc. etc.
I am seeing contradictions because they are insanely obvious. You are pretending Democrats are surging left to demonize them and now actively arguing they are in agreement with Republicans on the most important issues to the American left.
The establishment wing of the Democratic party has moved sharply to the left on social and cultural issues over the past ~8 years, but only very moderately to the left on economic issues. And yes, military spending ultimately is an economic issue.
Roughly speaking, Democrats are unified on cultural issues, but divided on economic issues.

You are compartmentalizing. Democrats moving left doesn't even include healthcare, as they've gone from wanting universal coverage in the 90's to passing a Republican-written plan in the late 2000's. They can't even get a vote on Medicare for all on the floor. Democrats moving left doesn't even include breaking up large companies through more strict trust control. Democrats moving left doesn't even include lowering military spending.
It's almost as if the establishment wing of the Democratic party has replaced the mainstream GOP as the political home of Corporate America.... something the trumpists have been telling both the establishment Republicans and the genuine lefties (Bernie wing) for the past 4 years.
