Don't worry as empowering as movies get they always fall back into traditional roles and never really challenge audiences.

I understand the difference. James Bond AND 007 has been a male role (as in acting) for 60 years. In fact, for 60 years James Bond HAS BEEN... 007.

It doesn't really bother me... I don't HAVE to watch a James Bond movie with a female playing 007. In fact the male/female thing doesn't really bother me.
What does "grind my gears" is this is another example of Hollywood folks altering the original stories, to make a buck with little to no work.

It's like the Bladerunner 2049 flick. Cheap imitation of the original. The list of re-written differently, movies is long and not very glorious. I noticed it around 2014-ish. Lots of non-original content being shoveled out for our viewing pleasure.

when liberals use "assault weapon" as a stand in to scare tactic people into thinking a semi automatic rifle is somehow more scary mechanically, rather than just looks, we call a big B.S.

when someone says "the machine gun existed back then" on a meme to do the same thing in the other direction, i call B.S.

that gun was a SLOW semi automatic gun, something we can all agree for the most part should be legal. everyone agrees muskets should be legal as they were explicitly what the 2nd A was about, at the time. bringing machine guns in is just memery.
