In today's episode of "drain the swamp":

Linda McMahon’s Trump Super PAC Committed $18.5 Million To Florida On Day Florida Designated WWE As An Essential Business

[...] t appears as if Linda McMahon, who is currently running a pro-Trump Super PAC for his re-election, committed to spending $18.5 million in the state of Florida on the same day (April 9th) that Florida designated WWE as an essential business which then allowed Vince McMahon to announce on April 10th that WWE will resume live TV broadcasts from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL.

Hah. Maybe Vince and The Donald go at it again.

WWE been fucking up lately, and it hasn't been good in awhile. AEW is killinng it, getting their stars....WWE already is a terrible employer in regards to worker health. They don't offer insurance they have a scheme and have only been able to do so because of monopoly.

If Trump loses in November, they could run a "hostile takeover" angle and Trump becomes the GM of RAW or something like that...

I'm not so sure. The economy and the job market will look dire, he has mishandled the coronavirus crisis quite badly, he had subpar approval ratings even before this all started. He keeps alienating voters, keeps being unable to strike a conciliatory tone or expanding his base, he keeps tripping over his own feet and suffering from self-inflicted wounds. And the corona crisis will push issues to the forefront of the debate that are bad for him/Republicans, in particular healthcare and social security.

His only saving grace is that he's running against a bland, uninspiring old fart who's quite clearly suffering from early-stage dementia. I still think that 2020 will be a really close election, and that Trump is only a modest underdog right now, but I definitely dont see him as a clear favorite, as of today.

With your description of Trump has been consistent from candidate to president. His performance has been the same his entire time. He inherited a growing economy that was his to fuck up. He signed on during a time of peace. Some legislation was passed that any warm body could have accomplished like Supreme Court judge nominations and criminal Justice reform...

His character throughout this whole ordeal has been constant. I can't see how anybody who voted for him before could have any reservations now. The people who voted for him aren't going to start thinking transgendered people are people and deserve bathroom breaks or that the cops should tone down shooting the blacks, or that workers are as important as owners and managers, or that their Mexican neighbors are ok being there. There will be plenty of dumb whites to get this guy re elected. And now there are the handouts, Bush 2 playbook.

The same dudes who re elected George Bush will re elect Donald Trump. Same fucking party, same people.

His performance might have been the same the entire time, but the conditions surrounding him have changed from 2016:

- economic and public health crisis due to coronavirus
- different issues being most salient at the time of the election. in 2016, it was mostly about cultural issues like feminism, blm, immigration. in 2020, it will be a lot more about healthcare, social security, how to get out of this crisis.
- people no longer able to project their hopes onto his presidency, he's a known commodity by this point
- he won the tipping point states in 2016 by just 0.7%, he doesnt have a lot of cushion
- his opponent this time around is less toxic to the white working-class

So...He was running on a bunch of fake crises that he was pretending were real crises and now he has a real crisis to manage and those same people night not want him to manage it?

DeSantis said people are “starved” for new entertainment, a day after it was reported he gave the green light to the wrestling giant WWE as an essential business to tape events in Orlando.
