Living in a liberal area, the eye test is bullshit. It's the same reason why liberals were so shocked that Trump won.
If this ends up like 2016, the polling industry is fucking done. 2016 was within the realm of reason in terms of polling error. This isn't.

Also, turnout is SKY HIGH. Is the conventional wisdom that turnout benefits Democrats wrong? Maybe Republicans can work on expanding the vote?
it is in liberal areas but i think it is incredibly valid in swing states. i live(d) in a very, very liberal area but it had a lot of people that traveled there for work and what not from all across the country and the amount of diverse views i get/got to see really opened my eye to things. i have family and friends in swing states and i trust their eye test more than i do polls.
i do not trust the eye test in my home base, everyone hates Trump there LMAO it isn't even worth considering.
i think Republicans making gains in different segments of the population can help turn out their vote. say what you will but he does seem to be gaining in non-traditional Republican segments while bleeding the suburban useless karen vote. but i fully expect them to revert back to idiot mode whenever Trump leaves office (either in 2021 or 2025) like the Democrats did after Obama. hell they reverted to idiot mode almost immediately after he won in 2008..both major parties do not know how to utilize the gains made by their generational candidates
Obama was the (D)'s JFK. Clinton used to be but he is basically persona non-grata now. the party resembles nothing what it was in 2008.
Trump basically (for now) is the (R)s Reagan
