I also find it funny how "the world" has changed forever. I'm pretty sure some of the tribes in the tropical regions don't even know what a skyscraper is. Fix you're narrow minded perspective on how 9/11 changed "the world" please.

It's not narrow minded. But if you want to be short sighted and childish, you can pretend that the united nations hasn't changed it's foreign policy and that the rest of the world hasn't felt the ripple from the incident. You can also pretend that the global economy hasn't been effected either or that members of many different nations perished on that day. Yesh, so much for not changing the world.

Its actually pathetic how much it changed the world, like Mycenaean said, many times that many people die daily due to worse things, yet dont get nearly the reaction.

There are at most half a dozen PaRD regulars who can actually identify with the pre 9/11 world .

Yep. I remember that day in 5th grade, when all my teachers were crying and every single kid at school got picked up and taken home. Except me and another girl.
9/11 sucked pretty bad. My dad is a Pilot, airline industry went down along with those towers pretty harsh.

Senior year, first period class was Facing History: The Holocaust (history class about the american and european holocausts)
I remember the extreme background checks my entire family suddenly had to go through with the new policies that were enacted on military bases.
Remember how much of a bitch it was to get my truck registered on post again so I could pick my mom up and take her to lunch sometimes.
Before that all I had to do was tell the guard "Hey mom is such and such" show my license and they'd let me up to see her. Big change now.

5th grade? How young are the people here? I thought I was young and I was already in high school.
