Is it something humanity or cow farts are causing. I doubt it.

Are we abusing the planet? Of course.
There have been many keystone-species die-offs, before we came along.
And there will many more to follow.

I don't think the planet even notices us, to be honest.

Global warming is an alarmist hoax. CO2 levels are rising, yes, this is easily verifiable by any individual by purchasing a bench top FTIR which can be pretty cheap now. But the effects of an increase of this trace component of the atmosphere has never honestly been looked at. Its more likely that increasing CO2 is a good thing due to it being a key component in plant growth.

It's a bit complicated. Higher amounts of CO2 result in more growth if there is an area for plants to grow. Cutting trees everywhere doesn't help. Biggest CO2 plant consumers are Russian Taiga and the Amazonas forests, also known as the lungs of earth. Higher amounts of C02 are absorbed by the oceans first. They become more acid. It takes a lot of time to saturate them enough, so the surface atmospheric CO2 isn't absorbed as well anymore. The last stage is the sudden spike of extreme weather phenomena before a proper global warming kicks in but then it would be irreversible (you can't catch all of the CO2 at once, you can bind it in living beings or photosynthesis process).
The other problematic bit is that to this day ice ages aren't explained. We know what happens but we don't know why. We are living in an interglacial right now ( timeframe between two ice ages). It's time to get colder again btw. Earth has never left the ice age (glacial) after the first time both poles with ice caps were formed (north and south pole). In-between the ice ages, ice coverage just retreats.
Most likely scenario of uncontrolled global warming might be ice ages in North America and Europe with extreme hot weather elsewhere. The reason being weakening of Gulf Stream and other water currents which keep Northern Europe warmer than it should be according to its position.
