she doesn't have enough power (lack of committee roles and lack of policy writing) and she doesn't have enough influence in her own party to be truly feared. but i don't think the Right attacking AOC is out of fear, it's an appeal to centrists.

the left did this for 50 years by claiming the GOP was the racist party by focusing on southern hardliner extremists in the party. and it's worked decently well.

i think branding the left as unrealistic on issues like climate change could be a decent political strategy, it elevates AOC but at the cost of elections going to the GOP elsewhere. imo.
