Except she specifically fight Feanor during the war of the silmarils and actively fought to defend alqualonde.

You are just wrong because you're repeating cherry picked right wing talking points.

I'm not a LOTR nerd but I listen to enough lore channels at work to know you're wrong about Galadriel.

It's ironic, because you're repeating almost word for word the actor's defense of the character. I don't read "right wing talking points" on Lord of the Rings because I've read Tolkien's work in its entirety. I'd recommend you do the same, it's a good read, or you can continue to listen to "lore channels" busy simping for one side of an inane political debate.

Galadriel (Silmarillion) left with the second group of Noldor and came to Middle Earth via the northern ice passages after Feanor burned the stolen boats. You're referencing a letter in the Unfinished Tales where Christopher Tolkien discusses whether or not his father intended to rewrite parts of Galadriel's backstory, and have her come to Middle Earth via an alternate route. It wasn't a fleshed out narrative, and would have required significant rework of large chunks of the story. As the only person who could rework it was dead, the completed narrative was published as was in the Silmarillion.

But this is all an aside, whether or not Galadriel participated in the rape of Alqualonde or fought against it has nothing to do with whether it's ridiculous for a nonexistent "young" Galadriel to be wandering around Middle Earth clad in armor fighting baddies. It's a humiliating retcon for a character that is a powerful and dominant figure in her own right. Rather than getting roped into gender debates, just consider that the show writers are orders of magnitude less talented than Tolkien, and the quality of the show is therefore somewhere between bad fanfiction, and very bad fanfiction. But if you liked seasons 7 and 8 of GOT, then by all means, keep watching. You don't have taste, but if that didn't stop you before, it won't now.

Funny how the actor would use facts about the material to defend the interpretion of the character. I didn't even know she wrote one, but the fact that it sounds like I'm repeating it word for word just shows how cut and dry this is.

You aren't fooling anybody lol. You just walked in to say "go woke go broke. strong woman bad. Ha you sound like thing I was told is bad"

Maybe your brain has rotted from consuming so much right wing trash that you've synchronized with it, which is actually worse than if you were just repeating the talking points like you usually do.

This is a dodge. Post the text (you might have to read the book first!) or you may have to give up. If you want to be an "expert" on any given topic, there's unfortunately some work you need to put in first.

Galadriel is a strong character, as I've said for 3 straight posts now. If you can't be bothered to read, I'm not sure why you're on this board in the first place. Trying to farm reddit karma might be just the thing for you.

That's a great story, but none of it's true. Galadriel doesn't take an active part in the war over the Silmarils in the first age, and while she's critical to the second age, she's not fighting there either. Galadriel is respected because she's one of the oldest remaining Noldor, old enough to have lived in Aman, and comes from royal stock. In Tolkien's world, that as good as being a demi-god. It's a recurring theme in Tolkien's writing. Aragorn is who he is because he's someone in whom the blood of the Numenoreans runs pure. Faramir and Denethor are greater than "lesser" men because they come from a noble lineage almost, but not quite, as good. In any case, you can be a wise, respected, powerful character without bashing people's heads in. Melian was arguable the second most powerful being in Middle Earth during the first age, and yet she never took part in a single battle. That's ok. Galadriel is a ruler, why on earth would she need to wield a sword or charge into battle? Toxic masculinity is killing you.

that user claims to not like high fantasy yet, surprise surprise, got a high fantasy character’s backstory all wrong

said user pretends to be knowledgeable about a great many things yet never seems to actually possess any correct knowledge or skills that would prove it in the affirmative

inb4 that user’s typical repressed frustrated homophobic retort

galadriel as a warrior simping is silly.

the show is ok thusfar, many of the changes are stupid, some are fine, others even are great.

but its not at all accurate to tolkien's works. thats fine, but that's a fact.
