If Hong Kong wins, its the end of the Chinese empire and maybe even among its own citizens.

Hong kong cant win this in the long run. In 28 years, their special status runs out and they will fully fall under the jurisdiction of China. Even now, the only thing keeping the Chinese from coming in with paramilitary police forces and crushing the protestors is the bad PR this would cause.
