Europe has always been more liberal the the US, and as a result, European media has always favored Demcoratic presidents over Republican ones. Furthermore, by the structure and nature of the profession, almost all mainstream journalists have a globalist mindset and thus lean particularly hard against a nationalist president like Trump.
Mostly true, though European media has been favourable with regards to Bush sr. and Reagan.
And I think it's a bit disingenuous to blame the backlash he gets here only on the globalist mindset of the journalists. Trump at least bears part of the blame (sending unqualified morons as ambassadors to our countries, in general being incredibly rude to allies whilst cuddling up to dictators, etc).
