"Anti-SJWsism" in the gaming sphere is pretty dumb. I get it, a lot of games journalistic outlets are pretty trash fires and are filled with unethical bad faith actors that actively hate the fact that they write about video games. Still, this isn't an excuse to lose your shit and lose basic reasoning functions.

I would add to that image the original Deus Ex, the amount of prescience the writer(s) were on about in the year 2000 is pretty amazing. Especially in the sphere of technology and the increase of AI and surveillance and even some social happenings that are dead on in the last few years.

Deus Ex is one of the greatest games ever made. Everyone should play it at least once. Human Revolution was fun and atmospheric, but lacked the profound depth of the first one. Haven't played Mankind Divided yet.

Yeah this guy needs to go. Makes you wonder what else he believes in behind closed doors, if he's willing to proclaim that to the public.

If you look at his full argument in context, I don't disagree with him.

the context being that he defends an abortion ban even for victims of rape and incest... i'm not surprised the extreme (religious) right agrees with him there, they also agreed with his blatantly racist remarks.

The guy has long been considered one of the leading voices of the secret and not-so-secret white supremacists and racists in Congress. During Republican primaries all across the country, an endorsement by Steve King is considered a seal of approval and signaling to GOP primary voters that this candidate is "tough 'enough'" on immigration and racial issues.

He was repeatedly condemned by leaders of the GOP, and was recently stripped of all committee positions.

If you're inclined to believe that the fetus is a human being endowed with the same rights any other member of our species has, you can't really claim that one conceived in rape or incest has any less a right to not be murdered as anyone else.
