Cops need to be held accountable legally for their actions that violate the law and professionally when they prove to have a lack of strong character and good judgement. Something that has improved over the last few decades especially in the most recent years, although still a ways to go.

what i'm saying is that the sheer amount of guns in america leads to an increased amount of shootings by police because every citizen is a potentially lethal threat. 'he was reaching' / 'he had a gun' is one of the most common justifications - and it disproportionally happens to poor people. inconvenient facts, i know, but still undeniably true.
