also, let's not forget that the constitution once also explicitly acknowledged and even protected slavery - and there sure as hell were many people who hid behind the 'i'm just principled about our precious constitution' narrative to support it.

probably because a certain country is relentlessly pushing the 'b-b-but europe isn't spending enough to defend themselves against threats like russia' narrative to pressure us into buying their weapons.

Each eu country just have to manage 3-4 nuclear submarines with ICBMs and we rule the world, or at least ensure our protection.
