They have a right to own

That includes people we dont agree with and it will lead to denied rights by being used to prevent firearm ownership not based only on percieved safety but political leanings and using things like mental health scare tactics against the non violent and will eventually lead to confiscation talk

well, since every promising avenue of fighting america's gun epidemic is simply dismissed as 'unconstitutional' by ignorant hacks, i guess the only alternative to 'no way to prevent this, but unironically' is repealing the 2nd amendment...
and since there is no majority for the latter (although i would be interested to see what polling with the two options 'do nothing about it' and 'repeal the second amendment and introduce new, stricter gun laws' would look like), i guess it's just 'fuck those thousands of innocent people that unnecessarily die each year - i love my guns too much'...
