Review sites are pretty uselses thess days.

There are two camps of people. Those that review bomb with low scores without watching a film because they saw a strong coloured person or woman in a roll and the other camp is those that review bomb with high scores when they haven't watched to determine if the acting is any good but saw XYZ in a roll.

For all I know The Woman King could be a decent flick, is it a 10/10 or 9/10 probably not, there are some titans of movies that it would have to be better than for me to put it that high and admittedly I think for many of us nostalgia will always rank certain movies higher which never frees up spots for new stuff.

Have a feeling it will be an economic flop. When the studios try too hard to push woke agenda it typically doesn’t do too well at box office.

The fact that so much money is generated outside the US is also problematic for movies like these.

China, South Korea, Japan, etc from my experience don’t seem to like movies in which a black person is a protagonist. Those dollar numbers are going to be low from there imo and they account for a huge proportion of our media consumption.
