A narrative can, but doesnt need to be true. It depends on the factual basis of the narrative. Trump pushing birtherism is certainly a stronger piece of evidence for his alleged racism than a 0.1 second frame from a campaign clip, to name just one example. Trump might be racist, or he's not - but what's for certain is that this clip definitely doesnt do anything to prove it.

trump IS a racist, and you KNOW that. the fact that you keep making excuses and giving him the benefit of the doubt on literally every single instance of his bigotry just shows how important it is to highlight that. it exposes his brownshirts as the reality denying shills they are, and reminds those who are not sure of what a crappy excuse of a human being he is.

It really depends on the specific definition of racism.

Does Trump believe that nonwhites are genetically born as inferior human beings, like neonazis or the KKK do? I highly doubt that.
Does Trump show some degree of racial resentment? Yes, absolutely.

oh really? how is claiming a judge can't do his job properly because he's "of mexican heritage" not the textbook definition of racism? how is his pathological obsession with obama, and his pattern of labeling african american women as 'dumb' / 'low IQ' (the irony) not that?

you're trying to make a distinction where there really is none. just because he doesn't go around shouting 'i hate *insert any minorities here, latino, african american, muslim* people' and doesn't have a swastika tattoo'd on his forehead, doesn't mean he's not a racist. if anything, his kind of dog whistling and superficial efforts to deny it, make it worse - because it gives his apologists a (flimsy and transparent) way of denying the obvious, claiming it's not that bad because he passes the lowest possible bar of not outright saying the implied stuff out loud.

that's ridiculous.

when his brownshirts keep denying the obvious, it's necessary to remind them. and seeing how desperate you were to get ahead of the narrative and spin it in the most trump-friendly way possible, by ignoring the substance and attacking the media again, it clearly shows this is still necessary.

You DO realize that calling people "brown shirts" only bothers German people, right?

the sad part is, while Trump is clearly racist, the "racist" label gets used so often that it's lost almost all of it's power.

liberals have overused it, just like conservatives over-apply labels like SJW.

arguing about whether trump is racist in 2020 is pretty dumb. you'd be better off grouping people who have a similar level of racism with him. because it's been used for everyone from Quentin Tarantino to David Duke. for everything from gratuitous use of the N word in movies to actually hanging black people.

i guess its just sad some people think saying "trump is a racist" does anything, that it moves any needles, or that it somehow hurts him. trump and his ilk are immune to the label, and liberals are to blame. at least liberals get immunity to labels as a nice trade.
