it is you who failed reading comprehension, BOTH of the polls i posted there were conducted BEFORE the shootings (one in march, the other one in july) - yours is from 2016.
last time i checked, this is 2019 - so which one do you figure is more accurate, liar?

Gallup takes this specific poll question only every few years in October. Your sources made specific reference to particular models of rifles that the press has successfully painted (quite erroneously) as "weapons of war." So when a pollster asks about AR-15 and AK-47, people have been conditioned by the lying ass media into thinking THOSE weapons are weapons of war. When I said BASELINE, I am referring to a standard question, asked the same way over and over again, by the same polling firm, over the long term. Maybe if you paid attention to pollster? Who for all his problems with hubris, was quite intelligent and taught people a lot about how this shit actually works.

more pathetic hackery, so now the polls are flawed, and YOU know what americans ACTUALLY want. of course you don't think about the fact that with those shootings in mind, people actually REFLECT on those issues, and might have a more informed opinion. of course you don't think about the possibility that it might be the other way around of your prefered framing, that a generalised question that has a much broader framing, including the manufacturing and possession of assault rifles, might lead to more rejection and apathy.

no, for you, a 2016 poll that supports your obvious personal opinion beats more recent and more specific polls, and therefore THOSE can be dismissed. i mean, if there was ever any question if you're a hack or not, this conclusively settles it.

imagine trying to talk about polling bias while unironically posting the phrase "assault rifles".

jesus. you look more clueless on guns than Bernie on JRE.

imagine having such poor arguments, that you have to resort to braindead NRA talking points of 'he used a term that can be nitpicked, so obviously has no clue about the issue and we can dismiss everything they said'. embrace the anti-intellectualism...

again, i have plenty of experience with all sorts of firearms from my time in the military. it was quite a lot of fun too. but considering its massive drawbacks for society as a whole, i sure am glad i live in a civilised country where deadly weapons are strictly regulated.

you seem to be acting on emotion. "assault rifles" as a term is a case of polling bias. as assault rifles arent legal in the hands of people. using the wrong term when you're criticized for posting a poll that uses wrong terms is telling that you dont recognize your polls could even be biased, because you not only like the results but need them to prove a point. same goes for the idea that polls following a tragedy aren't accurate to day-in day-out opinions of the public, there's a swell in anti-gun opinions post shooting, and those swells subside between shootings. so suggesting that your poll might not be accurate overall is valid. policy shouldn't be made only out of emotion, but you want to capitalize on that emotion like a stock trader who wants to hold out for the most artificially inflated price.

also itt: 'dismiss all the recent polls (including those that were conducter BEFORE the shootings) - i found one from 2016 that supports my narrative. we don't have to do anything about assault weapons, even though recent shootings, after the poll that i personally define as baseline was conducted, painfully illustrated how much damage you can do that quickly with those types of firearms. it's just emotion, people are so used to the senseless killings, they will become apathetic soon enough again, and support my narrative.'

Next time, I'll bold the only part of your comment that was being addressed. Allow me to repost:

...to be honest, I stop reading your bullshit after a few sentences. Regularly. Because you aren't in the habit of posting worthwhile commentary.

Meanwhile, you haven't proven me wrong on the topic, at best you can claim we are both right. Me on the generalized question, you on the specific one. But you're still in REE mode. How many more "Republicans are the minority" topics would you like to be eviscerated in this week?

individual polls are not reliable. strings of polls asking the same unbiased question over time to the same number of people tell a more valid story.

you can paint with oil paint on canvas or food coloring on toilet paper, you just get different quality results.

a more realistic ITT: would be fender takes 1000 shots while deflecting from valid criticisms and calling other people out for deflection.

the number of repeated bullshit phrases he uses in nearly every post are like getting a product that's in shrink wrap, twisty ties, banded, and in hard plastic. 10 mins of work just to get to it.
