"Presenting" Harry Potter as fiction doesn't make it fiction. The lack of magical proof and lack of being real makes it fiction. Just like presenting the bible as true doesn't automatically make it truth or presenting as history doesn't make it history. That's why I told you intentions don't mean jack.

Yes historians evaluate every claim individually and conclude if something was true and something that was fake. You can maybe claim there are kernels of truths in the bible but you cannot claim all of it is true. HOWEVER that is a contradiction that goes against what the bible claims. We are evaluating a claim that a perfect, all powerful, all knowing god wrote this. IF its not all perfect and not all truthful then it CANNOT be called word of god. You can call it man made story with mistakes, contradictions and occasional true events.
Inspired by god doesn't mean it was god. It could mean people thought they were inspired by god or just lied. There are plenty of examples of people who think god talks to them. They think the voices in their head are from god. Thats why we have thousands of religions. Why should we treat christianity any different from a mental institution patient?

I didn't "assume" it wasn't inspired by god I "concluded" it based on the lack of proof it makes. You can't accuse me of being circular.

Since magic has never been proven to be real its a natural and logical place to start categorizing it as fiction.
The day you prove magic is the day we can begin with "it could be possible"

Humans have devised millions of stories and myths over millenia. You want me to disregard all the gods and magical explanations except for 1. Why is it reasonable to believe in magical being created 2 people in a magical garden with a magic serpent , then that magic wizard got mad at the two people he created then he drowned everything then favoured one race of people over another, then send his son/himself to pay for our sins, but didn't realy die, walk on water, cure cancer resurrect from the dead. Hell, heaven, angels, demons, unicorns, satyrs, cherubs, leviathans, dragons, nephillim, virgin birth etc etc. That is more reasonable to you over << its just another man made superstitious story>> ?

You're still assuming your conclusion as your premise.

You say, "Magic has never been proven, therefore every miracle claim should be classified as fiction." That's not a historical conclusion—it's a philosophical one.

History doesn't begin by deciding that a category of events is impossible. It examines the evidence for particular events. Whether miracles are possible depends first on whether God exists. That's why the existence of God is the foundational question.

You also keep saying I must reject every other religion except Christianity. I don't reject them because they're "magic." I evaluate them on their own evidence and claims. If one religion makes stronger historical or philosophical claims than another, it's reasonable to judge them differently. We already do this in every other area of history—we don't assume every ancient account is equally reliable simply because they're all ancient.

As for the Bible, you're arguing that if one claim were shown to be false then Christianity collapses. That's an argument about biblical inspiration and inerrancy, not about whether Jesus rose from the dead. Those are related questions, but they aren't identical. The resurrection can be investigated historically without first proving every passage in Scripture.

Finally, you asked why Christianity is more reasonable than saying "it's just another superstition." My answer is simple: because I don't think all religions have the same historical, philosophical, or textual support. I didn't start by assuming Christianity was true. I examined the arguments and found the Christian case more persuasive. You examined them and reached the opposite conclusion.

At this point our disagreement isn't really about the evidence anymore. It's about our starting assumptions. You begin by assuming miracle claims should be rejected unless they're scientifically demonstrable. I begin by asking whether God exists, because if God exists then miracles are at least possible. That's why we interpret the historical evidence differently.

'atheists never fail me. my faith grows in leaps n bounds. what you meant for evil God turns to good
Genesis 50:20
King James Version
20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

i found a good article on alcoholism and i have you to thank for that.

Alcohol's Effects on Health
Research-based information on drinking and its impact.
https://www.niaaa.nih.gov/publications/cycle-alcohol-addiction#:~:text=Addiction%20can%20be%20fra

your assessment of course is the usual trash you spew for your agenda
there is a part of the article i will address at this time. (i intend to reread article later)
withdrawal systems? never had any. the more i look into it the more i realize what a super magical gift it is.

And right on cue you ignored the main point of the conversation that millions give up alcohol without magical jesus and start yapping about effects of alcohol instead lol.

Like I said we classify all history that involves magic as fiction. If Julius Ceaser wrote that he flew around on a dragon like Aegon Targaryen it would immediately be classified as bullshit by every historian. We would probably still believed that Julius Caesar existed just not in a magical capacity. Now we can give Julius Caesar a benefit of a doubt if you can show us a skeletal remains of a dragon buried next to Julius Caesar's tomb or something we can't ignore/deny. But until that day any magic = fiction.

I already explained to you why even one claim from the bible is false it cannot be called infallible word of god. Answer me this if the bible makes frequent, mistakes, false claims, hundreds of contradictions can you call it a word from a perfect, all powerful, infallible god? Really think about this. Either your god is a liar or its not his word. Who's word is it then? >> its obviously man made word.

Also you have no proof jesus rose from the dead so the obvious conclusion there was no resurrection. Why do you keep insisting that he did while not supplying the required reipts?

What historical, philosophical, textual support does the bible have that Tripitaka or the Quran or Bhagavad Gita doesn't? Does LoTR has more legitimacy than three little pigs because it has a much more expansive lore and textual support? Is Napoleon not real because he has less historical and philosophical support than Einstein? Does it make Christianity more real because the bible is thicker than Avesta? Is one religion more legitimate because its oral and not textual?
Which religion has more support doesn't in any way impact its authenticity all you are doing is making arguments ad populum.

Disagreement is about evidence or lack thereof. My default starting position was neutral I have moved from the neutral position to "christianity is fake" BECAUSE there is no good evidence to think otherwise.
You are in the "christianity is true" position and cannot explain or provide good reasons how you ended up there. You don't have proof only reasons and logic. Right now we are examining those reasons and I am pointing out how they are faulty or no good.

Btw I have gone back and noticed your reply regarding my question how hebrew slaves got their hands on so much gold. The passage partly explained how it would be possible so I will acknowledge that one particular plot hole made sense. That isn't to say there are thousand other plot holes and contradictions you still haven't explained. Just to let you know I am not some unreasonable troll who denies everything. Although I could have easily missed it because I tend to skim over the spam bible quotes you and others leave behind.

Wtf is a "works system"? Where did I lie about effects of alcohol? Why should I read your link when you aren't even following the main conversation?
Come back after you acknowledge the fact that people quit drinking without needing to pray to magical jesus. If you can't then you are clearly delusional and lying. Not interested in any other cope stick to the topic.

you see the part were the 'atheist has an excuse out of everything?

No? Literally nothing I said could be considered an excuse. It's just the definition of atheism, which is just not being convinced god exist. You seem to have this delusional understanding of atheism where you attribute a lot of things to atheism that has nothing to do with atheism.

Atheism = just not being convinced god exist. I'm honestly baffled that you aren't capable of understanding this.
