Really baffles me how more people aren't recognizing this shit for what it is. It stinks of hypocrisy. Any white person who wears a shirt that says "white is the future" would deservedly be called out for it. But for some reason, it's a-okay if someone with higher melanin does it. No, it's not a-okay, it's "empowering". Hence why I call them brown supremacists. Stop being afraid of calling them out for what they are. They're used to pussy ass, apologetic white liberals tripping over themselves to feel guilty for their white skin.
the past and present are "white". so i dont really see what the "future is white" would mean other than to perpetuate the same whiteness we already have and have had.
i dont think the "future is (enter minority here)" people are making any valid points either, but i dont have time for "why cant i be proud of my whiteness" people either. being proud of being white has next to no meaning, it's only to 1.) perpetuate white superiority 2.) lazily counter the minority narrative. its not that it's really wrong inherently, just more pointless.
i toss all of this kind of double standard type pride into the "let them have it" category. its not really problematic except for drawing the kind of offense that gets progressives labelled as snowflakes.
and there's the aspect of cultural genocide, wherein most if not all minority groups were forced by society to shed some of their culture as a price to pay for melting into the pot. black people specifically had their entire cultural identity torn away. in that context its less about what white people are allowed to be proud of, and more about the history of black people not being allowed to be proud of the same things at the threat of violence. no one's coming after Irish Fest, or German festivals, or any of that stuff. Black people can't have Zimbabwe Fest because black people have no recourse to track their cultural routes to country of origin in many cases. families split, outlawed speaking native language and especially teaching it to children (if they weren't sold off before you could anyways), etc. Black pride has far more validity than white pride, because black people are largely without national pride whereas most white people have it in spades. The Italian middle names that persist 12 generations after you're even approaching Italian with muddied bloodlines. Irish tattoos on people who have never been outside of the USA. etc. in that same context other minorities attempting to do the same have less logical reason to do so. no one told asians or latinos or eastern europeans "you aren't allowed to tell your kids where you're from". they all grow up in houses or even neighborhoods where the language was spoken openly as well as all the celebrations of their culture observed.
