I don’t have a big issue with this, many Christian and Jewish schools will be the same. The problem is to do with their religious teachings that don’t adhere to the curriculum

Wait what? So a public school drawing on public funds, which follows a public curriculum, can see it's curriculum changed because a specific religion feels that that teaching violates it's beliefs?

So is it time for the Creationist Christian communities to get into a frenzy over evolution again? Has Islam set the precedent?

Yeah... Naaaah.

Religious fundies of any description shouldn't be allowed to dictate to a publicly funded school. If you want your kid to adhere to some nutjob story books from thousands of years ago, you should either homeschool or pay to get them in a private one. Fuck that nonsense.

LGBT teachings weren't part of the nationally set curriculum. The course was pushed by the award winning teacher in that particular school. Parents have the right to disagree with certain courses not mandated nationally; this is distinct to religious schools that encourage a culture of extremism and disregard the nationally required curriculum.

Ah, I was not aware it was not part of the national curriculum. Fair enough, and my mistake. Carry on.

It'd be pretty infuriating. Now Bible schools and other such can teach whatever they want. They're private, it's the parents' money, who cares? Same with Muslim schools, jewish schools, etc.

And here in the US, each state determines it's standards for minimum education per grade, and subjects that need to be taught. So whether they like it or not, the theory of evolution, as well as the big bang theory are taught in such schools. Even if it's just "here's what you need to know to pass this state-required test" at least the information is getting to them.

2014 but more active than ever, and probably great again.

Interesting. State by state issue, as the states are providing the majority of that funding.

Be interesting to see the various case studies.

Key members of Jeremy Corbyn’s staff asked to be copied in on antisemitism complaints last year to give them an “overview” of sensitive cases, according to leaked emails obtained by the Guardian.

The senior Labour compliance official involved in the email exchange says the views of Corbyn’s office will be “welcome where given, but formal comment not needed … as a matter of course in all cases”.

The leaked exchange appears to contradict Labour claims that the complaints process has been kept separate from Corbyn’s staff since Jennie Formby took over as general secretary.

The Labour MP Wes Streeting said: “It is there in black and white that, contrary to Jeremy Corbyn’s claim that his office couldn’t intervene in individual cases, there was in fact a whole system for copying in some of the most senior people in his office. It is just appalling.”

The senior Labour compliance official’s email calls for “cases to be flagged where they involve any particularly politically sensitive matters, ensuring attention of Seumas/Amy/any others as appropriate”. Seumas Milne is Corbyn’s head of strategy and communications.

Uk's tariffs plan for no-deal

No-deal Brexit consequences: Government to slash up to 90% of trade tariffs – here’s what that actually means

https://inews.co.uk/news/brexit/no-deal-brexit-consequences-trade-tariffs-uk-explained/

It is quite clear: they want to lower customs duties so that imported goods remain at almost the same price as before Brexit. (To not become unpopular and lose votes ?). So, no tax revenue on entry fees

But in the other direction, British exports to the EU will be subject to import duties. European importers will probably prefer to supply elsewhere in Europe or even the world, rather than import from UK and pay import duties...

£ will fall, soon will not longer be on keyboards.
