physical property - yes, you are right, stop paying taxes and your shit out of luck, however, that is also because your house is hooked up to local infrastructure for utilities and water. taxes you pay go towards maintenance of that infrastructure. if you arent paying those, you should be disconnected. now, in Canada we pay land transfer tax on purchase of real property (real estate) - everytime it changes hands - which is beyond ridiculous and double dipping. should only occur on the first initial transaction and thats it.
