You are not really thinking your questions through. Ebola is not covid, treating ebola requires a lot of close contact, masks are not 100% effective, not all diseases have equal transmission chance.

60% catch rate means you've reduced the odds of spreading it by reducing the amount of virus you're expelling, and you've kept it from traveling as far from you.

You just activated your lizard brain. Take a few deep breaths and put your ape brain back in control. These questions are really easy if you think them through, and the CDC has numerous sources to walk you through their answers.

You failed to convey any information at all. 60% catch rate means 40% of the virus you're exhaling still can infect other people.

It's not a "preventative measure". And when you pack thousands of people in one business, rather than spreading them out among hundreds of businesses, you're increasing the likelihood of that spread.

You've failed to activate your brain at all.

Just check the CDC link I gave you. They list evidence of the effectiveness of mask wearing, we know for a fact based on direct observations that masks slow the spread of droplets.

If you have 60% less virus out there, and the virus is staying closer to the host, and the virus travels in droplets which are effectively caught by the mask, (all of which is true beyond reasonable doubt at this point) then masks will be effective at slowing the spread.

It's not about totally stopping it. It's about reducing the chance you give it to someone else. It is an undeniable fact at this point that masks are effective at slowing the spread of the Sars-Cov-2 virus, and we know it based on direct observation of that effect.
