This is a net positive for the Democrats, for times coming up.

PA is corrupt, their ballots always have issues.

1. The problem isn't the fringe Muslim minority among the electorate, the problem is "the college left" which is agitated by their cause and was already lacking in enthusiasm for this election. Going with Shapiro would have risked alienating this constituency which the Democratic coalition crucially relies on.

2. The rest of the Democratic coalition are conformist pushovers. All the squishy, college-educated white wokesters, all the older black voters who will keep voting blue no matter who until they die (or perhaps a bit longer). Those will easily fall in line and take any abuse and disrespect from party elites. But the Muslim vote and the youth vote are more volatile and have already shown their willingness to sink "their own ship" just to send a message with regard to Palestine. Look no further than last month's general election in the UK, where Labour's vote share absolutely plummeted in many Muslim-heavy seats, to the point that the Tories picked up seats on deeply hostile turf during an otherwise cataclysmic election for them.

"the college left" will not criticize a black woman potential president. that crowd's moral hierarchy has "good vibes" at the top. this same crowd thought that warhawk criminal murderer who slandered women who dared to sleep with her husband in HRC was the pinnacle of female progress.

Of course those members of the "college left" who do turn out will end up voting for Democrats. But their energy is already low, Kamala isn't the standard bearer to motivate them, and if her running mate had been a staunch and proud pro-Isreal guy, chances are that a lot of them would have stayed home.

Just look at how Biden barely eked out a win in Wisconsin in 2020: stalinesque margins AND turnout from Dane county (UW-Madison). If Kamala keeps the margins, but loses the turnout, she instantly loses the 0.63% margin Biden had. Then, any kind or marginal erosion with blacks in Milwaukee or the wwc in the rurals gets Trump across the finish line.

The energetic fresh air that VP pick Walz gave the anguishing Democratic base was quickly replaced by the depressing realization that Kamala still on the ticket. Democrats would be better off just removing Kamala entirely
