I don't know why that matters. Progressives are less willing to blame foreigners and "globalists" for the problems America is facing... why does that make their criticism of our system unAmerican?
The bold is mostly a strawman. Yes, progressives are not as obsessed with waving the flag. Of course this is a hypocritical observation since Trump has embarrassed and criticized the United States on the world stage multiple times. Republicans went crazy when Obama criticized America's foreign policy of the past... but Trump does it and it's completely fine.
Trump doesn't believe in a free market either... he believes in economic nationalism. Not the same thing at all. And apart from his whining about social media censoring of conservatives, he's incredibly critical of journalism, and routinely calls for the expansion of libel laws. Progressives believe America needs to be made more meritocratic.
I can partially agree with everything else, but the bolded part is completely ridiculous.
Their Green New Deal is much more than just an environmental policy proposal and in fact contains a comprehensive environmental, economic and social policy wishlist of the progressives - and it called for a federal jobs guarantee.
Progressives also forcefully push for a very high minimum wage which would distort the entire wage structure in less wealthy places.
Progressives are the most ardent supporters of affirmative action and push to expand quotas based on race and gender into all areas of economic and public life.
In general, modern, leftist, "intersectional" progressives (as opposed to, e.g., the progressives of the 1910s) do not support a meritocratic system, they support a system where one's rank in the "discrimination olympics" determines one's place in society.
