Its my understanding that toxic relationships tend to be one-way ratchets, the closer you get the worse it gets. 'Don't stick your dick in crazy' has proven true for people I know, at least. Why should any of these "asylum seekers" stop at America? Why not continue north and go over the North Pole? I hear Russia has lots of room.

As I've said before and time again: you're game'd. But something tells me you don't mind being game'd because you're in on the game. You can't swallow your pride and the Democratic party is so fucked up and un-American that you have no choice other than to dig your heels in, double down, and go down with the ship. The Democrats are so out of touch with the working class American that they have to import foreign nationals to become their base.

Not a comparable observation. Trump is selling a story about an America that has been betrayed by inept and corrupt leaders. His underlying message is jingoistic pro-Americanism. Bernie, AOC and Omar are hostile to American values and believe those values (e.g. patriotism, free market, free speech, meritocracy) are either inherently immoral or are in need of change.

As Obama said himself, though, it's normal to feel patriotic resentment when protesters are at rallies waving foreign flags.
