He's been on a good run of picks. axing Haley and Pompeo was a smart move, fuck warhawks. Rubio im not sure on, that dude goes just about wherever the wind blows. he may be a good lapdog and solid mouthpiece, but that's likely it. better than an ideologue imo.

hes essentially replaced the old guard of warhawks with rabid Zionists, what picks are you considering "good"?

Yeah i can't really tell about Rubio tbh. He's had his fair share of neocon bark but who knows what happens. I think most of us expected a full cabinet on non-interventionalists, but reality is there will still be a fair amount of neocons as part of his platform. They key difference from 2016 is he will has his loyalists in there vs turncoats that basically undermined him all throughout in 2016.

I think some neocons makes sense, ultimately we still want to signal willingness to deter if need be to our enemies. Even if you don't plan or want to go to war, having a bunch of people that would be willing and have used language consistent with that prior could be a strong deterrent.

"good" isn't what i'd categorize any of the picks thusfar, outside of me liking RFK Jr to join in an official capacity and i like his chief of staff pick.

i'd label it more as "better than the alternative", old guard warhawks being that alternative.

and i know RFK is just some crazy conspiracy nutter, i get it. but when you get rid of the flouride and vaccine stuff he espouses he's still the only candidate in living memory that talks about the absurdly high rates of chronic diseases in the USA compared to our peers. we're deeply unhealthy. and the only potential fix is regulation, something democrats like when they use it, but if a guy asks about vaccine autism then suggests it he's incommunicado. i dont even think he'll get much done, sadly, but if he spotlights it enough we may socially respond positively and cut out some of the insane shit we consume too much of.

his chief of staff is probably the only pick i'd call 'good' so far, she knows how to get shit done

RFK Jr has some interesting insights but its hard to take him seriously with all the other junk science he's pushed, not to mention he publicly stated that worms ate part of his brain and he speaks like a 95 year old with chronic laryngitis :P

i think the benefit of removing the old warhawk crew has already been offset by his Zionist picks but I could be wrong (i hope im wrong)

Wars are not ended by signaling weakness, they are ended by signaling strength - and if that fails, by demonstrating that strength. Hardcore non-interventionists, those who refuse to end wars, are weak, and that weakness will be exploited. Trump is wise enough to know this, and not suicide America by filling the government with pacifists.

some of those "good insights" were "junk science" just a few short years ago.

no one suspected food dyes could lead to child behavior issues, and now its all but proven they do.

we still dont have a solid list of what leads to autism, we know its certain chemicals and in some rare cases genetic, but we know out in society pregnant women and children are exposed to some chemicals and those are causing autism. 20 years ago it was suspected to be 100% autism.

most of his covid denialism of yesteryear is not solidly backed by study.

his concerns about micro plastics are unfolding in real time.

i think 100 years from now we'll see him as an eccentric who was more right than wrong, and was labelled wrong by a minority of his opinions. but im a crunchy dad so im biased.

Putting fluoride for example in drinking water is the dumbest thing ever. Fluoride is an extremely powerful ion that will erode just about all organic matter - fluoride should never be imbibed, this is why you shouldn't swallow toothpaste. It's good to coat on your teeth to strengthen the apatite by forming fluoapatite - it has no medical benefit beyond that, imbibing it is beyond retarded

If he is wrong about 3/5 things he says and nothing comes of it but he catalyzes change on 2 of these things, it will be a net good for our country. Microplastics and US population consuming way more processed garbage food vs Europe or other parts of the world is an objective that both sides should agree is something serious to tackle. Throwing these real issues out because he says some sus things about vaccines or fluoride or whatever else doesn't mean he's being crazy about the two. Sensible people, sensible policy makers can pick through what's a good and what's something that maybe doesn't deserve to be touched because it's not based on sound science.

These things have been ignored for eons because public health policy has been put on the backburner as corporations own our politicians. Processed sugary foods are addictive and provide recurring revenue. Plastic is a durable, cheap and efficient way to store and transport things. Cost savings and higher revenues has been prioritized but at this point the pendulum needs to swing in the other direction.

these people opposing RFK as being a possible disaster are too funny

health in the US is a disaster right now with the current mainstream

big pharma are a literal mafia constantly causing scandals and most of the advice "experts" are giving is paid propaganda

we have had literal doctors telling people that smoking is not unhealthy back in the day

the US have the fattest and unhealthiest population in the first world and insane drug abuse, both illegal substances and pharmaceutical drugs

what could possibly become worse?
