No one can prove Jesus is alive. No one's actions can prove the gospel to be true.

It's the same.

People do in fact learn the truth about Jesus by pursuing him and having faith in him. My personal testimony and experience is undeniable that Jesus is lord over my life and it's the best decision anyone could ever make.

Facts still don't care about feelings.

Jesus is alive addone and you'll continue proving the gospel true through your actions.

You dodged so hard there.

Onus is on you bud if you aren't willing to provide me with your methodology on how to disprove your god you never proven in the first place. Then you can't complain when I use my methodology.

Tell us another cope story i need a good laugh. And keep bumping my topic much appreciated

The more the thread gets bumped the more Jesus's great name continues to be in your life everyday. So I'll take that. It's important you continue spending time in the word.

Great cope. Too bad that's not reality. Religion including Christianity is on a decline. Thanks for exposing yourself as a grifter in this thread which contributes to further decline of your fake religion.

"After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands."

There will be a great deal of people who won't accept Christ and it is indeed a very sad thing. I at least did my part in telling you about his good news.

No one said quitting was supposed to be easy. Some people struggle some don't. But you cannot deny millions who successfully overcame addiction without magical jesus.

Also its not called "works process" or "a gift" its a term you just invented. All it is a person making a decision to stop drinking. You cannot "gift" them a recovery like a pair of socks LOL

it was easy. i stood up and it was gone. thank God
i never seen anyone just up and quit that didnt end up going back

yes it is. those ideas come from scripture. your ignorant of scripture and here telling everyone its false.

How can I disprove something that wasn't proven in the first place? Why don't you show me how you prove Huitzilopochtli doesn't exist and I will use your same methodology on your god.

No one can prove Jesus is alive. No one's actions can prove the gospel to be true.

if God wrote it into the stars. "im God believe in me" then you would say in all the 'atheist hubris "its aliens trying to trick me"
'atheists actually are the best process for proving scripture......................... imo of course :)

Alcoholism is classified as a Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) its a mental disorder. You had mental problems and you fixed your mental problems by changing your mind. It is not magic.
Try the same thing on a broken leg or reverse your age by 20 years or even ability to speak a different language. Pray to your god to cure something physical and if its not cured overnight thats how you know its bullshit.

People change their minds all the time. One day they decide to stop doing and never go back. Any addiction or behaviour can be changed. I used to play video games all the time completely addicted like most teenagers. Then one day I decided to stop playing so much and now I maybe play 2‐3 hours a week if that. Millions/billions of people do this without a god.

what truth would you be looking for? are you even looking for truth. my experience is 'atheists cant even look for truth. they have lost comprehension? earlier i called it rigid thinking. how can a 'atheist "in all their greatness" find truth?
what can a person do when a source is out right rejected? perhaps try another source that leads to the final source??
some truth?

falling away from the faith is prophecy. so all you did was verify scripture
1 Timothy 4:1-2
King James Version
4 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Bible references existence of other gods including many magical creatures beings. If you are christian and believe the bible you are also acknowledging the existence of other gods.
My point was IF Harry Potter exists then so does the magical universe. I can make a long list of (religious) books that were intended to be true that also contain magic. The intent of the author is trivial to their authenticity. The intent of the author can be to lie or be mistaken. What if Harry Potter author intended it to be truth will that automatically make it true? No thats absurd so your logic doesn't hold.

Everything in the bible must be true otherwise its not a word of god. The standard for fallible humans is not the same for supposedly perfect and all powerful being. So yea you do unfortunately.
Also you are confusing history that we know as exactly how it happened. Hate to break it to you but there are many historians who don't agree with everything and its constantly revised, the history books are constantly changed because people lie or discover mistakes or new information. So if you believe history 100% exactly how you've been told then I have a bridge for sale.

You can argue that some things in the bible are true and prove that they were in fact true or at least possible i might not disagree but a few non magical mundane places or events don't validate all the magical ones.
By the same token I can dig into every religious/holy book and find small crumbs of truth that doesn't make them all true unfortunately.

You're conflating two different questions: whether a document contains supernatural claims and whether those claims are true.

I never said an author's intention makes a document true. I said it tells us what kind of claim they're making. Harry Potter is presented as fiction. The New Testament is presented as history. Those are different genres, and historians approach them differently. Whether the historical claims are correct is a separate question.

You're also creating a false dilemma by saying that if one part of the Bible is debated, then the whole thing must be false. Historians don't treat any ancient source that way. They evaluate claims individually. For example, historians don't discard everything written by Herodotus because some of his reports are legendary. Likewise, historians don't accept every claim in any ancient source uncritically. They weigh each claim against the available evidence.

You also said that if God inspired Scripture, then every claim must be true. That's a theological claim, not a historical one. Whether Scripture is inspired is precisely one of the questions under discussion. You can't assume it is false as a premise and then conclude it isn't inspired—that's circular.

Finally, I've never argued that "because some biblical places and events are historical, therefore every miracle happened." I've repeatedly said that's not my argument. My argument is that the historical reliability of a source is one factor in assessing its claims. It doesn't automatically prove every claim, but neither does the presence of miracles automatically make every claim false.

So we're back to the real disagreement: you begin with the assumption that miracle claims should always be rejected because miracles have not been demonstrated to your satisfaction. I don't begin with that assumption. I think the question is whether the total historical and philosophical evidence makes belief in God and the resurrection reasonable. That's where we differ.
