I understand your point, but I don't think it's the best comparison. It's just a completely different dynamic.

And I've fleshed out my original statement. It's not necessarily that calling journalists traitors or enemies of America is the exact same thing as calling for their execution, but it's flirting with the idea. These are categories that should not be used lightly, especially by those with power.

And what were they flirting with when they called Trump a traitor or enemy of america for the entire russiaburger saga?
Trump is someone who can never, ever take a slap without slapping right back, often in the most infantile 'no u' of retorts. No puppet, you're the puppet.
And if you want to contextualize the dynamics, then you have to understand it not in some contrived walk down the garden path of hypothetically leading to the murder of journalists, but as the kneejerk pugilism of cantankerous baboon

I've already addressed this.

1. Pundits who went on television and called Trump a traitor or enemy of America were wrong.
2. We should hold the President of the United States to a higher standard than Bill Maher.

It's not only that it could lead to the murder of journalists, it's that the leader of the Republican party and the nation is helping to fracture American society. Saying "but Rachel Maddow and AOC said this" isn't really an argument.

maddow is a poor argument. but the postergirl for the other political faction sure isn't. even if we hold the POTUS to a higher standard than congresspeople it shouldnt be THAT big of a gap, certainly much smaller than the gap between potus and media personalities.

worse yet both Trump and AOC whine about the treatment they revel in others recieving. AOC doesnt care about GOP members getting death threats. she uses it to make herself seem like she's got good ideas and someone wants her out of the way.

and the reality is .0000001% of death threats are credible and attacks in public are about as rare.

Hey icemage lets back up a few pages

Does someone saying "Abortion is murder" automatically mean that they are saying women who have abortions should be hung from the neck until dead?

They should be tried by a jury of upstanding (protestant) citizens

So it basically flatlines in late-2017 right as Obama's fiscal year ended and Trump's began (October 2017)

recovery economics is childs play. extending a bull market this long has been nothing short of magic.

shit, trump tried to shit on bitcoin and actually caused a surge. he even pushes markets up when trying to shit on them. tariffs, calling out fortune top 10 companies, etc.

So a flatline is an extension of a bull market or is it a flatline? Hrm. I get what you're saying but doesn't "bull market" mean it's trending up? And what about corporate stock buybacks? Do we really consider the Trump corporate tax giveaway and subsequent stock buybacks to be indicative of the actual market?

It's a defibrillator market, really.

That's why Trump wants the Fed to lower rates. The taxpayer money giveaway to the corporations was the first shock. This will be the next.
