You can't compare Australia to the US in just national wealth per capita.

In the countries I said you could compare to, I should have excluded all but China and Russia. Due to the cost of the armies.

Even though the Aussies got their asses kicked by some Emus, I know that folks down under are pretty tough. But w/o the US as an ally, WITH it's military... China would be on you like stink on sh...

Mutually assured destruction is all the might you need to keep china or any other country from invading.
Australia is perfectly capable of defending itself, china does not have to invade us, we are their most important trade partner.

you mean they are yours, the USA does far more trading with China than China does with Australia.

Yeah, unless they owned you instead. Australia has some killer mineral deposits... almost as good as... oil.


W/o the US and it's military, China would have already taken the entire Far East. That would leave just one more thorn in it's side. Unlike the US, China and Russia ARE imperialistic.



tl;dr version: It's much more profitable to have a trade partner that belongs to you.

Agree to disagree.
China would not attack australia even if the us was completely isolated and unwilling to interfere.
We have powerful allies regardless of the us and this country would be impossible to occupy.

Ok. But I always win at RISK. Ofc, I always take Australia, when claiming areas in the beginning. Cause on a RISK board, unlike the real world, there's only ONE way into Australia... one road to defend.
