getting some very interesting brexit news today

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-47348610
so may stated today that there will be a "final" (how many final votes did we have by now?) vote brexit deal vote by the 12th of march

https://www.focus.de/politik/ausland/brexit-im-news-ticker-eu-erwaegt-brexit-verschiebung-um-zwei-jahre_id_10365491.html
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/feb/24/brexit-could-be-delayed-until-2021-eu-sources-reveal

at the same time there are media reports that the EU checks the possibility to postpone brexit for 2 years

will be interesting to see how the EU will handle this, giving the british two extra years would be hilarious considering the tough stance they had so far
is this a genuine attempt to prevent chaos? or rather (as i predicted) the EU puppets not daring to destroy their masters business after all?

Postponing for 2 years should only be an option if canceling Brexit (from the UK side) is on the table at all. As far as I'm aware, we're way past that, so better take the pain now.

I'm hearing there are no current negotiations with the EU or with Corbyn, so delaying the vote further is inexcusable. May is purposefully doing it so the ERG vote for the deal they hate, instead of an extension of article 50 which they hate even more.

One of the major member is trying to leave but cannot... Anything, except an advantageous deal for UK, would go in the favor of the EU.

Jeremy Corbyn is to tell Labour MPs later that the party will move to back another vote if their own proposed Brexit deal is rejected on Wednesday.

The BBC's Vicky Young said it was a highly "significant" development as Mr Corbyn has previously been "lukewarm" about the idea of another vote.

Labour are not yet making clear what their proposed referendum would be on.

Quote
Labour's Hilary Benn, who chairs the Commons Brexit committee, said talk of a referendum was still some way off as MPs would have another opportunity to vote on Theresa May's deal by 12 March.

But if the deal was rejected, he said it would "open up" a range of other possibilities, one of which would be to put the final decision "in the people's hands".

While Corbyn backing 'a referendum' is extremely vague, I support him finally showing a bit of leadership so we can make the most informed choice if May's deal doesn't get through parliament.

Brexit: Theresa May will leave Parliament the choice of a postponement.
'If MPs do not approve of the agreement she has reached with the EU, the British Prime Minister is proposing to extend the negotiations.'

=> So it will probably delayed, right ? ^_^

/e which is the only logical way when no one want to hold the burden, this sad show could continue until next UK elections.

I don't think a second referendum is something -that- bad, after all it's just like a "confirm" button.

On the surface, it looks like a win for Remainers and people that don't want a no deal scenario under any circumstances.

But look a little deeper and it shows the following (courtesy of Andrew Neil):
1. Meaningful vote by 12 March on latest version of May Deal.
2. If it fails to secure Commons majority, on 13 March May to ask Commons about leaving with no deal
3. If no deal rejected May to propose a short extension to Art 50 on Mar 14

Brexiteers actually welcome this, because May is proposing a 3 month extension if we can't agree a deal, whereas everyone else thinks it'll be until 2021-2025. How can we negotiate free trade deals with the world in 3 months...

The simple fact UK is "forced" to delay it is already a "mini-victory" for remain, but it can't be a long one, i have to admit it:
Not beyond 30 June because the new European Parliament will be constituted.

Following their meeting today in Paris, the French President and the German Chancellor took a step towards British Prime Minister Theresa May. Emmanuel Macron says he is ready to "consider a request for extension, if it is justified"
