Yeah and I'm not excusing the idiots who come out and shoot everything that moves, go back to camp drink more beer and go back out to shoot some more they scare the bejesus out of me, rarely would i even hunt my own timber during a rifle weekend. There's nothing worse than finding a deer that's bled out from a lung shot that some lazy hunter gave up on tracking. We never did hunt for racks we just put meat in the freezer, the best looking bucks were the ones that we let live because they make the best herd sires, the same with does we try to kill the smaller boned or weaker looking ones being landowners we get close to 30 free tags all told so there's more than enough to fill the freezers, and give some to the food pantry.
Id love to have the option of passing on deer. My stand is on a small dot of private inside a sea of public. If i let a doe go its just passing it on to another hunter sadly. THe worst part is it makes alot of hunter in my area take 2-4 pointers because they think, "well shit someones gonna shoot him".
