This election makes me feel like there is a big chunk of the country supporting the work towards it. Like, right now I am watching the torch be passed from "the jobs generation" to a new generation. I'm not sure what to call them.

sheep dont know where they're going, only the dog nipping at the fringes does.

I don't disagree. I'm just observing at how disappointing it feels to have grown up in a world in which my herd was 90% dogs and 10% sheep (and to be able to remember it as it disappears).

I'm not sure what to call them. But the reaction to covid seems to be one of the most resounding aspects of it.

Boomers said they wanted jobs, and they might have been sincere, but they are the entitlememt generation at this point. They all seem to think that goveremt health insurance pays your rent in assisted livings and nursing homes and most don't have shit for savings because of this. I don't know what they've done with their jobs but literally sit at the same one for 30 years and not grow and not face problems that can't be shopped away and expect to be taken care of because "they've done everything right ".

What i've learnt this election is that we're doomed in the Western World. People literally voted against Trump because they didn't like Trump but yet he helped the economy and unemployement more than any other government before.

Not only that, people rather vote and elect an old senile man who love smelling young girls hair and women hair. Like what the actual fuck lol.

Good luck America. As a Canadian we'll do our best to push Trudeau away before Canada belong to the Chinese but good luck America, you guys will really need it because it's not who got elected the problem, it's the important ratio of clueless people who live all day in front of their devices having no fucking clues how to live outside their room.

That alone is a problem, America been the strongest country for ages and now the population that's going to take care of America rather live inside and not give a fuck bout things that matter versus getting smarter by studying/learning what's what.

There's been an argument that the center-left and left did not accept that results of Trump's election in 2016, and it's true that some thought he was an illegitimate president, or that there was an asterisk beside his win. Of course, the whataboutism argument is mostly a distraction but I want to deal with this particular one.

The important difference is that most of the arguments centered on things that actually happened. Russia interfered in our election to damage Hillary, and Trump and his campaign welcomed the interference. Comey broke norms by having the press conference trashing Clinton, and then reopening the investigation publicly late in the game, and then closing it publicly late in the game. And then there were obvious criticisms about the electoral college.

The point being, most of the arguments were based in reality. You can disagree with them, but there were actual facts behind them. Today, most(if not all) of the arguments from Trump and Republicans on how this election is being stolen or rigged are not based in reality whatsoever.

Higher taxes... on who? Hate to be the guy to tell you thus but my tax burden went up under Trumos tax plan. That first year cost me an extra grand with a $6 paycheck increase. The fuck are you worried about taxes from the left for

Thank you for anecdotal evidence, mate, however the fact remains that most people saw their taxes go down under Trump’s tax cuts.

Experts are divided on whether the tax law was a good idea. But there is little disagreement on this core point: Most people got a tax cut.

The Tax Policy Center estimates that 65 percent of people paid less under the law and that just 6 percent paid more. (The rest saw little change to their taxes.

Other analyses reached similar conclusions. The Joint Committee on Taxation — Congress’s nonpartisan team of tax analysts — found that every income group would see a tax cut on average. So did the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, a left-leaning think tank that was sharply critical of the law. In fact, that group went even further: In a December 2017 analysis, it found that every income group in every state would pay less on average under the law in 2019.
