And get who? Trump has the Tim pool audience they wont leave him for a mild robot anti left Democrat that sorta talks shit about the left

This is america they want it super sized and loud

Trump would be extremely vulnerable to a centrist candidate who didn't have the personality and charisma of a cuttlefish. Its extraordinary that an incumbent president who has presided over an objectively successful string of police achievements and economic boom is polling so poorly and especially weak on his own economic victory. In conventional wisdom, any democrat running against such a president would be meat for the grinder like Mondale. But instead, Trump looks only marginally better positioned than 2016. His only strategic advantages appear to be the implosion of never-Trumpers (besides the very critical demographic of Icemage, and Krauthammer's corpse) and disproving the fears of those who agreed with his policies but were afraid he'd blow us all up in nuclear armageddon.

I'm beating a dead horse saying it, but Trump could easily lose to a Hickenlooper or Klobuchar or even Biden, anyone who can capture both Hillary voters and a few centrist breakaways that were hostile to her personally.
But instead, its the democrats, so a circular firing squad will massacre everyone

A moderate common sense candidate who's smart, non-hysterical, not pandering and promising a stable and reliable white house would be very appealing to a lot of reluctant trump voters and never trumpers.

I think the number of voters in America who are not happy with how the Trump presidency has been going so far, but at the same time absolutely do not want 180m americans kicked off of their current healthcare plan, do not want open borders and do not want reparations or "taxpayer funded third trimester abortions for transgender women"... the number of that kind of voter imho is really high. They imho easily make up 15-20% of the electorate.

Perhaps no one has been trying to go after those voters so far because they thought Biden would have them in the bag, but he was so weak and old and tired and clumsy and vulnerable at that first debate...

I think more people think Trump is doing good than think Trump is doing bad, as they should and the most miraculous thing about this is pretty much everyone aside from the voters themselves (and even some of them) have been trying to cheat/smear him for years now. For all my cynicism this is perhaps one of the most positive things to occur in politics and hopefully the pendulum will return to sanity after another 4 years of Trump. Hope I'm not too naive.

A fair number of people really like what Trump is doing policy-wise. An even bigger number likes what he is trying to do policy-wise (e.g. the citizenship question).
At the same time, a big percentage of those voters does not like his personal conduct or the optics of his administration.

So the "trump doing good" imho should be differentiated between those who like his policies and personal conduct, and those who like his policies but dislike the conduct. The latter group could quite easily be poached by a Democratic candidate with a moderate common sense platform.

Former, I am sure most people would agree, but the latter again is more just other people presenting things. If Trump was left wing, there would be a weekly parade in his honor as the greatest most progressive president of all times. In reality, i don't give a fuck how someone acts as long as they uphold good policy and liberty so as far as I am concerned "trump doing good" I wonder if Crenshaw will have enough steam to take over 2024.

Sure, the media is highly biased and doing everything in its power to drag Trump down. Nonetheless, it's undeniable that he's constantly lying, constantly rambling, constantly contradicting what his cabinet members are doing with a hasty tweet. He's constantly rude towards his country's traditional allies and buttering up autocrats. He's erratic and unpredictable, a showboat, kinda ineffective with the political tools at his disposal, and has bad political instincts.

And that's coming from me, someone who generally likes the guy and his presidency, supports him on a clear majority of issues, and would vote for him again in 2020.
