my nice house costs me like 1k$/month. utilities figure another 500$. so that's 18 grand/year. half a cow and im still under half of the 50k$.

and to me there would be no finer life than growing all my own food and raising chickens. hell i could probably set up a roadside veggie and egg stand and live for nothin.

That's a hot tub, not a pool. Assuming the water is heated. Maybe run an exhaust pipe through the water to provide heat?

yeah it's seasonally a hot tub, pool, and block of ice that u can skate in really small circles on. i wouldnt suggest the exhaust, but a charcoal grill starter could do in a pinch.

Right up till you hit about 75 yrs old. Then the upkeep starts to be too much to handle.

Like I said earlier... most people that aren't in the public eye, find their needs lessen quite a bit as they get older.
