Whatever is politically expedient for whatever opinion you are attempting to push is the only thing that matters. It's typical sociopathic behavior usually credited to Boomers. The generation that was given everything by their parents, then exploited their children for more, and are now demanding more and more concessions to try to make them live longer/forever.
You strike me as kind of like them. I remember when Boomers were against single payer healthcare because, "Why should I pay for you? Keep your insurance plan from when young to old, and you're protected against being dropped if you develop an illness. System fails if people don't buy in until they're sick!" has now turned to, "I want to pay less, so every 18 year old should be required to pay more than I did when I had no insurance!" When they told jokes, they used racial slurs nonstop, because "A joke is a joke, and we have a right to freedom of speech", common thing to grow up to, from my generation. Last 15 years or so, suddenly even calling someone a "redneck" is "racist" because "omg might offend a Latino, and words are violence!" "People can worship what and where they choose. As long as they don't impose themselves upon me, we're good." turned into, "Nobody who is of any religion except maybe Islam (because racist!) should ever be able to run for political office, be part of the police, or any kind of government employee, I don't want to risk them making policies based on religion!"
It's an interesting switch though, in all honesty, how you'll go full out on bulk insulting anything that's not identical to you for hours, then randomly claim, "Oh, I was just shitposting." once you're called on it. Been watching it for years. Very boomeresque. My question is, they actively benefit, with their early retirements and the young pay for all their shit when they didn't pay for their parents.
