a large part of the trump base is anti-military-industrial-complex spending. and those very same have immigration high on their list of policies.

imo most of the trump hardliners would choose immigration over increase military spending if they were blindly asked. trump was elected to chants of "build the wall" not "support the troops" afterall.

The funds being redirected now pale in comparison to the overall budget increase the Pentagon saw under Trump. During his Presidency, the Pentagon budget increased from $580bn in 2016 (last year of Obama's presidency) to $693bn in 2019.

So yes, Trump is pro-military, he's providing them with both moral support and tangible funding improvements.



And Snipa is right, Trump's base isnt a fan of the military-industrial complex and prioritizes immigration anyway.
