why do you have that garbage on sir? even that joke of a 'football' game on is better than CNN

I'm overloading on political coverage before I abandon politics for a bit.

I'm going back and forth between CNN and the Bulls/Heat game.

Honest question for Trump fans:

If Trump had won the popular vote but Hillary won the presidency through the Electoral College, would you still be okay with it? Or would you say the system is rigged?

I support the popular vote system, but it's out of principle, not who happened to get more votes this year.

Trump supporters in general would accept the result but constantly mention that fact like Hillary supporters are. They'd probably say the exact same thing you are saying, that the EC should be removed.

While the intent was different when it was implemented I agree and support the electoral system of electing the president because it forces candidates to listen and mold policy towards all states and not just the ones with the high population while at the same time giving states with a higher population more votes.

if it looked rigged trump supporters would probably say it was rigged but trump supporters wouldn't be rioting in the streets and instead would be buying guns like back with Obama

As a Clinton voter, I would not have been ok with it even the other way around. I've been ranting about the electoral college for years.

You're trying to create some sort of false equivalence to make me appear like I'm being reactionary.

I support the popular vote system out of principle and have for years. I imagine Trump supporters (or die-hard Clinton supporters, for that matter) would support whichever system gave them the win.

If Clinton had won the EC but not the popular vote, I'd be just as frustrated.

you're acting on confirmation bias somewhat, plenty of "clinton supporters" are silently not saying a thing about the electoral college system. as many trump supporters would have entirely accepted it. The issue is when you've won you have a natural motivation to lie because there is no consequence. so even people who wouldn't have accepted it can say they would have. That's exactly the pickle HRC is in.

Lets be realistic.

How would we even change the electoral college/senate seat number without rural states claiming that they aren't represented enough?

You know that no Republican would ever vote to remove the EC

edit: No my last statement was not correct I could see a couple. But overall. How would that work?
