Don't worry about me, for the last 2 years I've spent most of my time outside the UK. I come back for the summer months, as I don't think there are many better places to be in the summer festival season.
While this whole episode is depressing, the big picture may not be as bad:
- The threat of Reform becoming a major player in the next election means Labour have a big incentive to tackle mass immigration and the resulting issues stemming from it
- The immigration reforms passed in the last year which restricted the number of dependents you can bring to the UK are already having a large negative effect on visa applications:

- The previous Conservative government were an abomination; they gave up trying to govern years ago. Labour will make some positive incremental policy changes, not because they are good, but because most of the problems the UK has are actually quite obvious and have clear solutions.
