Personal disputes resulting in shooting each other. USA! USA! USA!

Absolute clown show of a country. Glad I dont personally live in such a shit hole where I worry if someone angry on the road or some minor street argument is going to result in open fire.

most states are pretty safe, its the right-wing gun-nut red states you have to worry about mostly. texas has a mass shooting every weekend it seems like . it turns out more guns dont make you more safe!

Its wild to me that you can feel "safer" from other humans by having a gun on your hip. That is not only a constant state of paranoia (not reassurance) and if anything only confirms you feel unsafe all the time in your own country, city, neighbourhood, wherever. I could not imagine living that life.

Just imagine thinking when you get in your car that you need a handgun in the console in case of road rage.

What a backwards ass place and way of thinking.

Yes, almost 100% of the mass shooting statistics demons like your like to throw out to make white Americans look bad are shootouts between rival inner city factions with civilians in the crossfire.

A firearm is not a security blanket. A firearm is a survival tool, the same as a pocket knife or hatchet or book of matches. Who is afraid of road rage? I'm more concerned that if my vehicle breaks down driving through the mountains and I have to walk to the nearest house or business because there's no cell signal, that a fucking mountain lion may take offense at my presence. Or a bear, or an elk. If I'm far north enough, worst of all it could be a moose.

While I can only speak for myself, I can say with absolute certainty that I never expect to have to draw a weapon on a fellow human. Should that be required, then so be it. It's nothing to worry over or fear or look forward to though. Just train, prepare, and hope it's never necessary. However, you're picking up your shit at the grocery store and somebody goes postal, would you rather be prepared to respond, or would you rather just pray to some fairy foofoo fluffy fucking goddess that the crazy person spare you in particular?

Don't worry, I stock up on canned goods, toilet paper, and candles too. Sometimes the power goes out. Sometimes TP is sold out for weeks at a time because of colds. Sometimes food shelves go inexplicably empty. Do I expect to have to dig into every single thing I ever get because unexpected events occur? Ofc not. But would I rather be prepared to some extent to deal with whatever occurs? Of course.

I suppose you could just put all your trust in your government saving you when things go wrong. Not sure how well that's ever worked out.

Imagine living in Africa where people with slightly more money than others are kidnapped and held for ransom, at the very least robbed at gunpoint. One of our forklift operators is from Nigeria. His father was a doctor and was kidnapped several times, the last time he died because he didn’t have his medicine with him.

Never once heard you talk about what a piece of fucking shit Nigeria is.

I didn't mention any color. I just said USA. That's just you taking offence to everything and anything, as per usual. You have to be the most fragile person here.

SUMMARY
In 2022, an estimated 16,800 people died by gun homicide across the US.1 This number—while still unacceptably high—represents a 5.7 percent rate decrease from 2021, and brings the country back to pre-pandemic trends.2
But not everyone felt these declines equally. From 2021 to 2022, gun homicide rates dropped 7.8 percent among adults, but rose 11.1 percent in children and teens.3 In 2022, Black Americans died by gun homicides at a rate 9.9 times higher than white Americans, and Native American peoples’ rate was 1.45 times higher than white Americans.4 And as always, gun homicides continued to cluster in America’s cities.

The FBI is the leading source of city gun violence data across the country, covering over 94 percent of the US population in 2022.5 Everytown’s City Gun Homicide dashboard allows users to explore gun homicide trends across over 500 cities with populations of 65,000+ that reported data to the FBI from 2018 to 2022.

Key Takeaways
Across FBI-reporting cities with populations 65,000+:

Contrary to public perception,6 most cities (69 percent) had below-average gun homicide rates.7
Gun homicide rates were notably low—three or fewer deaths per 100,000 people—in three large cities: San Diego, CA; San Jose, CA; and New York, NY.8
Gun homicide rates decreased the most in Trenton, NJ, Wilmington, DE; and New Haven, CT in 2022 relative to the year prior.9
Not every city uniformly experienced these low trends. Half of the gun homicides in this sample occurred in just 20 cities, including Chicago, Philadelphia, Houston, Los Angeles, Detroit, and others.10
Gun homicide rates were 42 times worse in cities with the highest gun violence rates compared to those with the lowest rates.11 Five cities in particular—St. Louis, MO; Birmingham, AL; Portsmouth, VA; Detroit, MI; and Memphis, TN—had alarming rates of 40+ deaths per 100,000 people in 2022.12
From 2019 through 2022, three cities consistently ranked amongst the worst gun homicide rates: Detroit, MI; Memphis, TN, and St. Louis, MO. Two new cities—Milwaukee, WI and Little Rock, AR—joined this group, and one city

Take out cities with a large black population and you return to normal. There's a reason why Maine is the safest place to live...I wonder why?

Amazing how the stats for Gun HOMICIDE rates are absolutely terrible for blue states and blue cities. Throw in the suicide numbers, suddenly red states are looking "worse".

Thing is, who cares if somebody self-deletes using a gun? Would you rather they use a knife or hang themselves or inject bleach? I mean, maybe you would. Your love for those who you politically disagree with is pretty evident. ;)
