I agree that she was an integral part of the family unit, and she contributed to it. However, if you look at who actually earned all that money, it's the husband. The wife is an indispensable part of his success, so she should get some money. But she never actually worked. As such, she doesn't deserve half.




I am glad that it has worked out for your marriage, however not all households are like that. If I make 100K a year, but my husband brings home 200 dollars per month, I won't see it as "our money". I mean it's all fine when you are sweet with each other but when trouble comes, I am sure you would want to keep your half. This is especially true when there is a big differential in income between the spouses.
