being flippant now: Then they should have a chinese firm responsible for abortion data in the US, sothat women in the US will be safe from conviction when seeking an abortion outside of the state they are in where it has abortion banned (because the states then cant retrieve data relating to same).

i dont think it's feasible for someone who live in a no abortion state but then leaves the state to a yes abortion state to be prosecuted when they return.

you're only subject to the laws of a state when in that state. and there is no federal ban on abortion to override the two states. this is a classic example of interstate commerce, and u cant transport an abortion back across state lines.

this is how it should work yes. remember i was being flippant m8. :) when it comes to sensitive issues such as abortion i would not put anything past any state though.

they can try, and it would be thrown out immediately. it wouldnt even make it to the supreme court of their state, let alone the SCOTUS.

im personally for banning tiktok, because it will be replaced a month later by a US firm that isn't pooling data in china, and hopefully has a less regressive algorithm. a purely user data driven algorithm creates a frightening landscape of content, but at least it's pure.

I thought the US didnt have a supreme court anymore ?

yes i was being flippant again, sowy!

your country has a serious problem with china. the problem is you see china as the enemy and your forcing china to respond. do you want all foreign countries out of the US or just china? what about clothes? what about food?

i have this issue where as people get less and less serious i still cant help but correct the factual issues lol.

i stand by my posts above tho on the topic. its not about the content, its about the access (now and future) to data pools, and the regressive algorithm that we dont even have access to in order to explore it's issues fully afaik. maybe some client side data mining can be done on it, idk.

what about the rest of the world, where US and Chinese companies operate? We dont have a key to US or Chinese data vaults. should we ban US and Chinese companies ?

Also, have you visited China? they are generally less loud, less argumentative, a very welcoming people to strangers. yes their government and cultures are different, but for every thing you dont like about them there will be as aspect of it in the US (or any country). I dont see any country as my enemy, and I dont see a need for the US to make enemies.

i'd be tickled fucking pink if nations around the world started to ban US goods. not as happy as id be to see China banned, but happy none the less. i want as much consumption of US goods in the US as possible. our import to export revenue loss is abhorrent, as is our foreign production of US labelled goods that are in truth only assembled or finalized stateside.

i have zero issues with chinese people, its the govt that is a risk to the world. as compared say to like Iran where i hate the govt and think maybe 50% of their people are an issue. or Israel where i hate the govt and think say 75% of the people are an issue.

should probably continue this in a separate topic as OP might not want us straying from his original topic.
