the thing is, any "debate" regarding the holocaust is settled, the evidence is overwhelming, nazi germany rounded up millions of jews (as well as other "undesirables" like communists, roma, homosexuals...) and murdered them. people who still deny that aren't doing it for lack of proof, genuine curiosity, or healthy scepticism, but solely because they don't WANT it to be true for whatever reason. i mean, it's not like people are "debating" if the civil war really happened, or the french revolution. holocaust deniers aren't unconvinced serious historians, but people with an agenda...

you need to learn to read more carefully. i didn't say "people shouldn't be ABLE to have a debate about it", i'm saying there simply is no good faith debate to be had, because the evidence is overwhelming. again, holocaust denial isn't based on a lack of evidence, not on a reasonable alternative narrative as to what happened to millions of jews in the third reich, and what happened in death camps, but on a political agenda trying to downplay or outright deny it ever happened.

the reference to flat-earthers merely serves to illustrate how ridiculous any "debate" is from a factual perspective. of course people should be free to talk about their inability to comprehend science or accept historical facts, but that doesn't mean that they are entitled to be taken seriously by anyone who isn't a complete moron. do you understand the difference?
