Trends fall off, I don't view this as something society is moving too, but closer to a trend to get attention at this point. Again there's just not the population of xyz group and the more extreme it gets the more you turn off those moderate individuals who supported it beforehand. The buzz will inevitably end over the years I assume and it will go back to status quo where no one has ever heard of or cares about these unusual fringe groups of people.

There's always been oddballs that associate differently and they just align with whatever oddball trend is at the time. This one will pass and a new one will arise. I still get a kick thinking back at those goth kids in school. Now my cousins don't even know what a goth kid is, the subculture is dead.

Gender has nothing to do with biology.

We've far crossed a "trend", and transgender people are widely seen in society and met with incrementally increasing acceptance. We've got transgender people in film, politics, sports, and virtually every facet of life.

One can only hope that the dust at least tastes good.

I am not arguing that transgender people will stop existing, I'm saying the attention given will fall off, and they will just meld back into the melting pot and go back to being insignificant. It's just an easy way to get attention right now and inevitable you will probably see the real strange fringe groups drop off too.

That and its just straight up not some passionate topic for me. I live in the far north where most people don't get to eat, there wont be any influence from these trends in my lifetime up here, there's much bigger concerns.

Society will survive even if an obese transgender was gifted a beauty contest crown.

News like this happen because people talk about them so much, even if 99% of the population doesn’t really care about trans issues all that much. The novelty will wear off and they’ll be absorbed by the rest of society and won’t be discussed all that much at some point.
