I don't think I am really a conservative, just sick to death of the nonsense the neo-liberals are spouting. I think a lot of people say they are conservative because they like a few things one of the representatives said, and haven't put much thought into what those values would translate to in practice. It's easy to mouth off about our ideals without seeing the other side of things, and I think people in these positions who consider themselves to be infallible are very dangerous. When a member of the general public behaves as they do, they are called a narcissist, sociopath, psychopath. When politicians do it, it's leadership, fearlessness, bold confidence.
The meaning of language has been hijacked so I'm never really sure. The ultimate gaslight. It's hard to fight against when almost everyone around you is carrying around a Newspeak dictionary/thesaurus, just waiting to chastise you for "being on the wrong side of history".
I think we are on borrowed time as a species. Don't worry about which political party is going to usher in the apocalypse.
There is nothing you can do unless you're willing to sacrifice your life, and you still might end up fighting for the wrong side.

I've always voted liberal/ndp because I am not very politically informed and they just sounded like nicer people. This is their design. I am a little embarrassed to have been so wrong. That's what happens when you get complacent.

None of the parties can or care to fix Canada. All of them try to fix one or two things and destroy everything else. Harper was absolutely terrible. Trudeau is absolutely terrible as well, but in a completely different way. Just a shitshow.
