I mean, nobody is going to escalate into full war by one incident. That's not how the real world works. But it might be argued that the stray missile -could be- a test of limits, which is what russia has been doing to a lot of countries through many decades. I remember many headlines from my own country's (norway) media, mostly having to escort russian fighter pilots out of a nation's territory. I think that was denmark it happened to. Sweden and submarine incidents is familiar too. They do this to test response time and levels of diplomatic response and escalation.

Then you have to ask, did the president order this, or was it subordinant military personnel and officials? Hard to keep milliions of military personell under 100% check in a corrupt country. In the real civilized world, you have to keep a realistic mind about everything.

Of course, if this happens frequently, even under the guise of it being faulty tests or similar excuses, then poland and NATO will respond. Most likely by alerting all military presence, responding to attacks, and threat of retaliation if it continues. If it continues, they will start trying to invade smaller but important russian military outposts or cities, to prove that they have the means of retaliating. And then the circus will be started. I'll have to enlist and peel potatoes, do dishes and clean toilets 15 hours a day.
