Based on the "biological definition" of woman, Glados from Portal isn't a woman. Glados is a robot. Eve from Wall-E isn't a woman, she's a robot. Galadriel isn't a woman. She's an elf, doesn't have human chromosomes to examine. Yet nobody has an issue with me using "she" or "her" when referring to them.
The reality is just that "woman" is an arbitrary label. Same as "man".
Galadriel has a vagina.
and "woman" could mean "female" both in reference to elves and humans. because elves are humanoids, and by proxy human terms are extended to them.
if you call a female dog a woman you're grammatically incorrect and silly, if you call an elven female a woman you're grammatically correct, even though they're made up.
